UCL: Chukwueze late goal breaks Bayern heart in Allainz Arena

Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze sent Bayer Munich out 2021-22 UEFA Champions League after his late goal to end the encounter at a 1-1 scored draw in the quarter-final clash at Allianz Arena on Tuesday night which sees Villarreal go through in 2-1 on aggregate

The 22-year-old Nigeria international comes in as a super-sub after the La Liga outfit struggled to contain dominant Bundesliga giants once Polish skipper Robert Lewandowski broke the deadlock for the home side the seven minutes into the second half of the clash in Germany.

Emery masterminded a 1-0 win in Spain brought in Chukwueze in the 84trh minutes of the game to replace Nigerian descent Arnaut Danjuma but the Nigerian forward who failed to impress against Ghana in the African final playoff in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers leveled the tie dramatically to give Villarreal the lead on aggregate and seal a historic victory.

The Spanish side will face either Premier League title contender Liverpool or Portuguese side Benfica in the semi-final of this year’s competition, a contest Jurgen Klopp’s men currently lead 3-1 on aggregate.
